Leftover village idiots
Clamor for her attentions
Sometimes she’ll stop
Because she’s got no pretentions

But for kings and queens
In their diamonds and jewels
She turns a blind eye
And leaves them as fools

For a poor priest or a friar
She gives them a smile
As the bishops and cardinals
Lust all the while

And for a kind poet
She may give a wink
As a way to say thank you
And inspire him to think.

I thought there was something cute about this poem. “She” seems like a cool lady.
