7Noah’s Ark

Original Season and Episode: Season 4 Episode 22

Original Air Date: February 26, 1992

Synopsis: Two different research teams believe they’ve located the fabled Ark in two different areas in the mountains of Turkey.

Impressions: The Epic of Gilgamesh, repackaged and retold for a brand-new audience. There’s a small reference to the original, but not by name. I’d need Ancient Aliens to do that years later. I’m not religious, but I get into stuff like this, especially when there’s two opposing sides. The last side makes a more compelling argument, but I don’t think there’s really an argument to make.

Rating: 4/5

8Martin Luther King, Jr.

Original Season and Episode: Season 5 Episode 12

Original Air Date: December 2, 1992

Synopsis: The debate remains as to whether James Earl Ray was an assassin or a patsy.

Impressions: An interesting presentation. However, this subject escapes my interest. I never really got into it like other political assassinations. The ins and outs, key players, the whole story.

Rating: 2/5

9Bigfoot in Oregon

Original Season and Episode: Season 6 Episode 23

Original Air Date: March 23, 1994

Synopsis: The Pacific Northwest is home to many Bigfoot sightings throughout the years.

Impressions: I’ve always been into Bigfoot, this series being the main reason. They have more than one Bigfoot segment, and this one isn’t the best. The encounters are modern for the time, lacking the more interesting, dare I say “classic” cases and history.

Rating: 3/5

10Sonny Liston

Original Season and Episode: Season 2 Episode 8

Original Air Date: November 15, 1989

Synopsis: The death of Sonny Liston gets debated as to the cause of an overdose or foul play.

Impressions: I’m not sure how this qualifies as a strange legend. That’s more in line with historical stuff, myths, subjects in that realm. The death of Sonny Liston falls into the realm of a possible unsolved murder.

Rating: 2/5

11Who Killed Superman?

Original Season and Episode: Season 8 Episode 5

Original Air Date: November 17, 1995

Synopsis: George Reeves, the original Superman, death gets debated between suicide and foul play.

Impressions: Everything I wrote about the pervious segment holds true. Two disappointing segments in a row seemingly out of step and out of place.

Rating: 2/5

12Billy the Kid

Original Season and Episode: Season 1 Episode 20

Original Air Date: April 5, 1989

Synopsis: Reports of Billy the Kid escaping his fate fall at the feet of a single man in a small Texas town.

Impressions: We’re back on track boys and girls, back on track. I love Old West outlaw stuff, and I love “The Kid.” There’s a lot more they could have added about the mysterious circumstances following the shooting, and how they didn’t adhere to the customs of the day in dealing with identification. A lot of parallels to the John Wilkes Booth case we’ll see in a later segment, but likewise not covered.

Rating: 4/5

13BC Sea Monster

Original Season and Episode: Season 2 Episode 17

Original Air Date: January 24, 1990

Synopsis: Reports of a sea monster named Ogo Pogo come from Lake Okanagan in British Columbia.

Impressions: I think there’s a mix-up somewhere. The segment title didn’t match the content. Yes, a Canadian sea monster’s involved, but a different one in a different place. I’m a bit confused, but still, the segment isn’t that good.
